When you read a book. . .

Filed under: Uncategorized — Mrs. Murphy @ 11:41 am
  1. What is the book about?  Is it historical fiction, science fiction, fantasy fiction, realistic fiction, or non-fiction?
  2. If the book is a work of fiction, can you follow the plot easily - or does the story wander all over the place?  If the book is non-fiction, is the sequence of events easy to understand?
  3. Are all of the characters well developed?  Does it matter to your enjoyment of the book if they are not?
  4. If the book is about a particular cultural group, does it present this group in an unbiased fashion; will this book hurt people because of its stereotypes?
